A bit about recycled glass
Sourcing and classifying
The process begins with the collection and sorting of recycled glass. The glass is washed, and any potential contaminants are removed before it is taken to the furnace.
Because it comes from recycled sources, the glass is often contaminated, making it necessary to separate plastics, metals, dirt, and any other materials that could contaminate the furnace or alter the color of the glass.
The glass is then melted in a high-temperature furnace for 24 hours before it can be extracted and shaped into new pieces.

Glass is 100% and infinitely recyclable without losing quality.
It melts at temperatures above 1400°C.
Glass containers have one of the highest recycling rates among packaging materials.
Globally, it is estimated that between 30% and 40% of glass is recycled, although in regions such as Latin America, the estimated rate is around 12%.

This process is beneficial for the environment because it reduces the need to extract and process raw materials to produce new glass, while also decreasing the amount of waste sent to landfills.
For every 10% increase in recycled content, greenhouse gas emissions associated with manufacturing can be reduced by approximately 5%.
By using recycled glass, up to 40% of the energy required to manufacture new containers can be saved.
